SayStash

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 13, 2026 · Applies to the SayStash Android app (com.silvercodelabs.saystash) and saystash.com

The short version: your notes, events, and reminders are stored on your phone, not on our servers. SayStash has no user accounts, no ads, and no analytics inside the app. We — SilverCodeLabs — never see, collect, or sell your content.

1. Who we are

SayStash is developed by SilverCodeLabs, an independent software developer based in California, USA. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at contact@saystash.com.

2. Information the app stores

SayStash lets you capture notes, events, and reminders by speaking or typing. Everything you capture — the text of your notes, the dates and times of your events, and your reminder schedules — is stored locally on your device. This data is never transmitted to SilverCodeLabs and we have no ability to access it.

If you uninstall the app, or clear the app's data in your device settings, this locally stored content is deleted.

3. Microphone and speech recognition

SayStash requests microphone permission so you can capture notes by voice. The microphone is only active while you are deliberately recording a note; SayStash does not listen in the background.

To turn your speech into text, SayStash uses the speech recognition service provided by your device's operating system (for example, the Android speech recognizer). Depending on your device settings, that system service may process audio on-device or send it to the platform provider's servers (such as Google) for transcription. This processing is performed by your device's platform provider under their own privacy policy — SilverCodeLabs does not receive, store, or retain your audio recordings.

You can decline the microphone permission and use SayStash entirely by typing. You can also revoke the permission at any time in your device settings.

4. Notifications and alarms

SayStash requests notification permission so it can deliver the reminders you schedule. On supported devices it may also request permission to schedule exact alarms, which allows reminders to fire at the precise time you set. These permissions are used only to deliver your own reminders and for no other purpose.

5. What we do not do

6. The saystash.com website

Our website is an informational page for the app. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) for security and operational purposes. We do not use this information to identify you.

7. Children's privacy

SayStash is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed at children under 13. The app collects no personal information from any user, including children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through some other channel, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Data security

Because your content never leaves your device, its security depends on your device's own protections. We recommend using a screen lock and keeping your operating system up to date.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change how SayStash handles data — for example, if a future version adds an optional backup feature — we will update this policy and revise the effective date above before the change takes effect.

10. Contact

Questions or requests regarding privacy can be sent to contact@saystash.com.
